Clubhouse to Launch Android Version — Polarity Technologies Ltd.

Clubhouse, was launched last year and started as an iOS-only app. The app caught the attention of many A-listers and the general public making it one of the most sought-after apps in the market. The invite-only app completed its one-year run with the iOS version only. After making waves during its first year, the app has now launched its android version.

The android version was launched earlier this month and it will be rolled out to the entire world during the week. Some of the countries mentioned in the Tweet included Brazil, Japan, and India. However, the tweet also mentioned the rest of the world, so we can expect the app to be available on Android globally soon.

The app plans on maintaining its invite-only model for new users in its efforts to measure the growth of the app. The Android version is said to lack some of the features that are available on the iOS version. These include following a topic, linking Clubhouse to social media profiles, changing profile picture, and making payments. The app is working on making these features available on the Android version soon.

As Polarity Technologies has learned from The Verge, The platform has lately focused on creators, and recently announced the results of an accelerator program which will fund 50 audio Clubhouse shows. CEO Paul Davison said during the weekly Clubhouse town hall that next on the company’s roadmap are in-room tipping for creators, paid events, and subscriptions.
